The Counselling and Therapeutic Practice degree provides the education and practical training required to become a qualified Pluralistic counsellor using an integrative approach. You'll develop the expertise, competencies, and hands-on experience necessary to offer counselling services to diverse age groups, from children and adolescents to elderly clients. The program covers various conventional talk therapies alongside innovative modern techniques, enabling you to work effectively both in-person and through digital platforms with clients. Practical placements form a crucial component of this counseling program, thoroughly equipping you for professional practice. Each academic year includes placement opportunities, culminating in 100 hours of supervised clinical work - fulfilling the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) accreditation requirements. Our School of Psychology and Therapeutic Studies features specialized Placement Coordinators and maintains robust partnerships with numerous local counseling organizations and mental health providers to ensure you complete your mandatory supervised practice hours.
Graduates of the BA in Counselling and Therapeutic Practice can pursue advanced postgraduate studies at our university.
