Our BSc Economics program emphasizes quantitative approaches, incorporating advanced mathematical and statistical techniques to address diverse economic challenges.
During your initial year, you'll explore fundamental economic concepts while strengthening your quantitative abilities through specialized mathematics and statistics courses for economics. The second year expands this theoretical and analytical foundation, leading to advanced methodological modules in your final year, with potential access to applied options from the BA program.
You'll have flexibility in selecting your specialization path. Both BA and BSc Economics students share identical core and elective courses during the first two years, enabling exploration of both applied and methodological economics.
Following your second year, you'll choose between specializing in methodological economics (BSc route) or shifting to applied economics (BA route), which dictates your final year module selection.
The program includes an optional year-long paid placement with leading UK organizations after your second year - past partners include the Bank of England, HM Treasury, IBM, and PwC.
Regardless of your chosen specialization, you'll graduate with the essential skills for careers in economics across public, private, or nonprofit sectors, or related professional fields.
