With deep knowledge in synthetic chemistry, polymer characterization, and colloid processing, we address diverse real-world challenges.
Our focus spans sustainable polymer and colloid solutions, from biodegradable materials for specialized uses to long-lasting polymers designed for large-scale reuse and recycling. Reducing resource consumption throughout the product lifecycle is central to our research.
Key analytical methods we employ include rheometry, various X-ray scattering techniques (SAXS, WAXS, GISAXS), optical and atomic force microscopy (AFM), thermogravimetric analysis, aqueous electrophoresis, gel permeation chromatography (GPC), and multiple particle sizing instruments like analytical centrifugation, dynamic light scattering, and laser diffraction.
This research group maintains a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary approach, working extensively with academic fields (such as physics, biology, and engineering) and industry leaders including Unilever, Lubrizol, AkzoNobel, Ashland, Scott Bader, Syngenta, DSM, BASF, SC Johnson, BTG, GEO, Dow Chemicals, P&G, Aliaxis, Kingspan, G2O, and Diamond Light Source.
