The University of Sheffield's MPlan program holds prestigious accreditation from both the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Additionally, our housing components are recognized by the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH), establishing the MPlan as the sole UK program with this triple accreditation distinction.
This master's program combines academic study with hands-on projects, field excursions, site inspections, and professional placements, providing a direct pathway to achieving Chartered Member status with the RTPI.
Spanning four years, the curriculum delivers both fundamental knowledge and addresses contemporary challenges like climate adaptation and urban disparities, offering comprehensive training in urban development, spatial transformation, and planning methodologies.
