Get ready for a research-focused career, whether you're drawn to exploring physics' fundamental questions about reality or honing analytical skills for industrial problem-solving. During your final year, you'll collaborate with physics researchers and lead your own investigative project.
This program provides excellent research training. You'll study core physics topics alongside our regular courses while selecting philosophy modules spanning diverse subjects - from religion, morality and governance to gender studies, aesthetics and mortality, plus examinations of influential philosophers like Plato, Kant and Hegel.
Your initial two years will cover foundational physics concepts shared across our programs: thermodynamics, dynamics, electromagnetism and quantum theory. You'll also select from numerous philosophy electives exploring themes from belief systems and moral philosophy to gender studies, artistic expression and existential questions.
In lab sessions, you'll conduct experiments using our state-of-the-art facilities to observe theoretical principles in action. Optional coding classes offer training in skills crucial to contemporary physics and valuable across industries, from data analytics to digital entertainment development.
Your third year allows specialization across various disciplines while undertaking an independent research project in either physics or philosophy. Physics electives include cosmic phenomena, particle physics and quantum field theory. Philosophy choices encompass consciousness studies, existential philosophy and ontology.
