Biomedical science focuses on studying the human body and our capacity to manage it in both health and illness. This five-year MBiomedSci program prepares you for a career in research, whether in industry or academia, by combining an integrated masters with research emphasis and a year-long paid internship.

Our biomedical science curriculum spans human physiology, pharmacology, and molecular and cell biology, equipping you to shape the future of medical practice. You'll examine genetic disorders, cancer, age-related physiological changes (including hearing impairment), and strategies to combat antibiotic resistance. You'll also investigate stem cell therapies and learn about developing pharmaceutical treatments for inflammatory conditions.
With a Biosciences degree, numerous career paths become available. Employers highly value Sheffield graduates for their developed skills, whether pursuing roles in industry, joining leading graduate programs, or advancing to further studies.
