This program is crafted to enhance your stylistic understanding and advanced skills for performing classical music at a professional concert standard.

Through workshops, masterclasses, and personalized instruction from expert tutors, you'll refine your capabilities as both a soloist and ensemble player, culminating in a public performance at the course's conclusion. You can opt for either the piano performance track or instrumental performance track.

You'll explore modules that deepen your grasp of performance as a research-driven discipline while collaborating on creative projects with peers from other programs.

The department plays a vital role in Sheffield's vibrant cultural scene, offering students regular performance opportunities with University of Sheffield Concerts, a series featuring diverse performances by globally renowned artists.

Sheffield is recognized as one of the UK's top music cities, boasting numerous premier venues. When you apply you'll need to provide a portfolio in the form of a video. It must include two contrasting pieces of different styles and eras that demonstrate your expressive and technical flexibility. Classical singers should choose works in two different languages. The portfolio should be approximately 20 minutes and can be uploaded in separate videos.

IELTS - Overall score of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component
