The foundation year program offers individuals with non-traditional qualifications comprehensive academic preparation to excel in degree-level studies at the Sheffield Methods Institute. After successfully finishing the foundation year, participants will advance to the BA Applied Social Sciences program. This preparatory year is specifically structured to boost self-assurance, cultivate key academic and learning techniques, and deliver crucial subject-specific knowledge for achievement. Students will learn within the Department for Lifelong Learning, which brings nearly four decades of expertise in supporting mature students to realize their potential for university-level success.

Be prepared for the demands that undergraduate degree level study will place upon you
Be 21 or Over.
A minimum GCSE grade D/3 in Mathematics (or equivalent) may also be required. A GCSE grade C/4 may be required for some science programmes.
IELTS - Overall score of 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component, TOEFL - Overall score of 80 with a minimum of 17 in Listening, 18 in Reading, 20 in Speaking and 17 in Writing, Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic, PTE Academic UKVI - Overall score of 56 with a minimum of 51 in each component.
