Addressing climate change and promoting sustainability are crucial for the future of both humanity and nature. Our BSc Geography program delivers this knowledge through interactive learning, helping you grasp environmental processes and human adaptation in a changing world.
Recognized by the Royal Geographical Society, our curriculum offers deep immersion in both human and physical geography. Through practical, relevant modules, you can specialize in human geography, physical geography, or blend both. Guided by expert researchers, you'll study topics like climate change impacts, glacial systems and water resources, river dynamics and restoration, plus urban sustainability strategies for greener cities, transportation planning, and more.
Fieldwork is central to your education. Our trips complement specialized modules, giving you hands-on experience to strengthen your understanding. Destinations often include the Peak District, Yorkshire Dales, Sheffield, and Liverpool. You'll also join residential field courses in the UK and abroad—past locations include Scandinavia and Barcelona. At Salford, fieldtrip expenses are included in tuition fees, ensuring all geography students can participate.
