The fields of journalism and public relations have evolved in today's digital era, and this program blends time-honored techniques with innovative approaches that are redefining both disciplines.

Students will master researching, writing, and editing news stories and features for digital and print media – including our hyperlocal news platform Salford Now – while simultaneously building essential PR competencies.

The curriculum spans diverse areas from audio storytelling to governmental reporting, digital content production to emergency messaging, offering comprehensive training in both journalistic and public relations principles. The program also explores synergies between these two fields.

Learning takes place at our advanced MediaCity campus, where students utilize industry-leading resources and benefit from proximity to major broadcasters like the BBC and ITV, alongside boutique creative firms and PR consultancies.
