Immerse yourself in a millennium of historical study while accessing the diverse specializations available at the University of Reading. Our History Department offers extensive knowledge spanning multiple regions, including Europe, Africa, the Americas, South Asia, and the Middle East. Choose from varied modules covering different eras and subjects, ranging from the Crusades to Cold War Berlin, and from Medieval Mysticism to the Rwandan Genocide. In 2022, our BA History program received a 94% satisfaction rating in the National Student Survey.

During your first year, core modules will focus on individuals, political systems, and revolutionary movements—examining how societies contended for influence—along with the cultural and intellectual frameworks they established.
