This MSc Health Psychology program enhances your understanding of health behaviors and equips you to assist patients in managing chronic conditions while improving healthcare delivery. You'll develop expertise in health psychology's core domains: clinical practice, theoretical foundations, and research methodologies. The curriculum explores how biological, psychological, social, and environmental factors influence physical health, along with preventive strategies. You'll examine the lived experience of chronic illness and acquire skills to support affected individuals. A mandatory 100-hour placement provides valuable practical experience, with institutional support for securing appropriate opportunities. This BPS-accredited Stage 1 qualification prepares graduates for progression to Stage 2 training toward Chartered Psychologist status (BPS) and HCPC registration as a health psychologist. Alternatively, graduates may pursue careers in health promotion, behavioral research, addiction services, or chronic disease management without further study.
