Dental nurses play a crucial role in assisting dentists with patient care and treatment procedures, forming an essential component of the dental healthcare team. This CertHE Dental Nursing program, approved by the General Dental Council (GDC), offers a comprehensive 1-year full-time or 2-year part-time curriculum designed to equip you with fundamental knowledge and hands-on experience to achieve beginner practitioner status. Upon graduation, you'll qualify as a valued dental team member eligible for GDC registration. Enhance your collaborative abilities by learning alongside King's College London Dental Institute students specializing in dental hygiene, therapy, and final-year dentistry. Train in exceptional facilities at our Dental Academy, featuring 44 treatment areas, 2 private surgeries, a phantom head simulation lab, complete radiography equipment, and digital patient records. Gain practical experience through community outreach initiatives, including dental care programs for homeless populations and partnerships with Portsmouth Football Club. Clinical placement options span specialized areas like special needs dentistry, maxillofacial units, and standard dental clinics. Successful completion grants you a CertHE qualification in Dental Nursing, enabling GDC registration as a certified dental nurse.
