This research-focused degree is designed for individuals passionate about cyber-physical security in marine and maritime technology. The program covers policy development, penetration testing, digital forensics, and human-in-the-loop studies addressing contemporary and emerging challenges. It accommodates both technical and non-technical research methodologies.
At the University of Plymouth, students will benefit from our globally recognized maritime cyber security experts and state-of-the-art facilities, including CROWN (Cyber-Resilience of Offshore Wind Networks), the Cyber-SHIP Lab, and the Marine Station.
Participants will join an interdisciplinary research team that actively collaborates with major sector stakeholders (such as national/international governments, naval forces, defense contractors, shipping companies, and maritime equipment manufacturers).
Tailor your learning experience by selecting from various optional modules that complement your current expertise.
Develop the ability to integrate knowledge from diverse cyber-physical security disciplines within the maritime field and apply it to your chosen research specialization (including autonomy, decarbonization, offshore infrastructure, vessel systems, or port operations).
