If you've demonstrated strong academic promise but lack formal qualifications or have been away from structured education, this four-year program with a foundation year could be ideal. The initial year builds your skills in pure and applied mathematics, statistics, and basic computer programming.
You'll achieve knowledge comparable to A level Mathematics, covering portions of Further Mathematics while learning programming fundamentals. We don't just teach problem-solving techniques - we also explore the mathematical proofs behind the rules to give you thorough comprehension.
From day one, you'll learn on campus as part of our mathematics community, taught directly by University faculty members.
Maintaining a 50% average during your foundation year guarantees progression to year one of any mathematics degree we offer. Review the progression options listed above for details.
Comprehensive support systems include: dedicated study spaces near faculty offices, open-door policies with lecturers, a math help center in the library, and supplemental learning sessions guided by upper-year students.
Our upcoming engineering and design complex will provide science, engineering, and arts students with cutting-edge laboratories and specialized equipment.
Learn from distinguished researchers - 68% of our academic work was rated World Leading or Internationally Excellent in the UK's 2014 Research Excellence Framework.
Duration: 4 years full-time (with optional placement year).
