Our welcoming research community fosters skill development and broadens perspectives. This may involve cross-disciplinary studies, participation in academic seminars, or conference planning. Our faculty covers extensive expertise, from classical literature and historical studies to Greek and Roman visual arts and the legacy of antiquity. Recent student projects have explored topics like Dionysian Triumph Sarcophagi, Aphrodisias' Female Portrait Statues, and Representations of the Spartan physique. The program primarily consists of self-directed research, with periodic supervisory meetings. The PhD requires at least two years of full-time or four years of part-time study at the university, though most complete it in three years of full-time research.
