At the Ruminant Population Health Research Group, we specialize in analyzing animal health and welfare data through advanced statistical and mathematical modeling approaches.

Big data describes massive datasets that demand specialized computing methods for processing and utilization. We collaborate with industry partners to create and test cutting-edge technologies for gathering ruminant health data, helping farmers enhance welfare, productivity, and sustainability.

Our research focuses on precision livestock health monitoring, developing animal wearables (like accelerometers and temperature sensors) to detect lameness and other welfare indicators, and implementing IoT solutions for livestock management.
