Course introductionDo you care deeply about safeguarding our planet, preserving wildlife, and understanding ecosystems?Our program explores humanity's influence on nature. You'll examine environmental challenges and solutions. The most significant dangers to biodiversity include global warming, destruction of natural habitats, and non-native species. You'll analyze these impacts and discover strategies to control and mitigate them.All environmental science students will participate in hands-on field studies, acquiring valuable practical abilities. These immersive experiences let you implement classroom learning while building competencies sought after in environmental professions.Evaluation methodsWe employ diverse assessment approaches, including tests, written assignments, oral presentations, and lab work. You'll receive detailed grading rubrics explaining how your performance will be evaluated.Your submissions will be promptly graded with consistent feedback. Annual progression requires passing all components, typically necessitating minimum 40% scores in every module.Students falling below a 55% average after Year 2 will transition to the standard three-year BSc track. Required subjects: 
A level biology.
GCSE mathematics and English at grade 4 (C) are required.
Excluded subjects
Citizenship studies, critical thinking, science and society, general studies and leisure studies not accepted.

RQF BTEC Nationals
Applications are assessed on an individual basis to ensure sufficient biology has been studied. We will consider the following: 
RQF Level 3 BTEC National Extended Diploma DDD 
RQF Level 3 BTEC National Diploma DD plus one A level at grade B
RQF Level 3 BTEC National Extended Certificate D plus two A levels grades BB
The required A levels for mixed BTEC and A level grade profiles depends on the science content studied in the BTEC.
Access to HE Diploma
Applications are assessed on an individual basis. Where an offer is made, our standard requirements are:
Access to HE Diploma 24 graded Level 3 credits at Distinction plus 21 graded Level 3 credits at Merit, including 15 credits from biology units.
