Pursuing a degree in Architectural Environment Engineering equips you with the expertise to significantly decrease the carbon impact of constructed spaces. You'll gain specialized knowledge to influence the creation of intelligent, eco-friendly structures. These engineers collaborate with architects and specialists to realize building projects, covering areas like renewable energy systems, intelligent automation, thermal regulation (including heating, cooling, and airflow), spatial acoustics, and illumination planning.
As structures account for the majority of global energy consumption, our program emphasizes sustainable solutions. You'll develop into an engineer capable of driving meaningful change. The program provides access to state-of-the-art resources, including specialized design studios, fabrication workshops, and research laboratories featuring cutting-edge sustainable energy systems.
This undergraduate program spans three academic years, with an optional additional year for those pursuing chartered engineer status. Many students, particularly international ones, opt for our BEng pathway followed by an MSc degree. Explore our four-year MEng in Architectural Environment Engineering for more details.
