Enhance your love for Ancient Greek and Roman history by combining it with archaeology. Develop the ability to examine and understand material culture by applying techniques from both fields.

This flexible program lets you advance from foundational skills and theories to specialized topics. You can choose:

a combination of Classical Civilisation and Archaeology courses
interdisciplinary modules blending both subjects
ancient Greek and Latin language classes (starting from beginner or A-level)
The program includes a 10-day archaeological fieldwork requirement, fulfilled through participation in an approved excavation or related placement, either domestically or internationally.

We collaborate with the British Geological Survey and the University Nanoscale and Microscale Research Centre, while also providing artifact-handling workshops and educational initiatives at our on-campus museum.

As a dual-degree student, you'll gain from the unique skill-building approaches and evaluation methods of both disciplines.
