Our BA in Music Production equips you for a dynamic and rapidly changing industry that added £1.26 billion to the economy in 2021. This program is crafted to open diverse career paths in music creation, whether in video game soundtracks, live performances, or educational roles. We equip you with versatile skills to become an independent artist-producer, covering digital tools, studio techniques, and essential academic foundations.

The University of Northampton's Music Production program unfolds across three phases. Initially, you'll build core competencies in every aspect of music production.

Year one establishes foundational knowledge in key areas: DAW sequencing, audio/MIDI technology, acoustics, studio engineering, hardware applications, synthesis techniques, critical listening, and analytical writing. Later years allow deeper exploration of your chosen specializations.

During the advanced stages, you can focus your studies, selecting from concentrations like music production, composition, live sound engineering, media/game audio, sound design, or music pedagogy.
