The PGCE Secondary (Geography) program prepares you to teach geography to students aged 11-16 or 11-18 in UK schools, covering the National Curriculum, GCSE, and A-level syllabi. Upon completion, you'll earn a postgraduate qualification and be recommended for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Our expert tutors and mentors will guide you in converting your subject expertise into effective teaching techniques and applying educational theories in real classroom settings. Our university instructors bring extensive teaching experience, including senior-level examining roles for GCSE and AS/A-level. Qualification Requirements

Minimum 2:2 honours degree in geography or a related subject (e.g. environmental management, environmental sciences, geology, or planning and development). If you are unsure, please contact us to discuss your qualifications. 104 UCAS points at A-level. In addition, applicants who do not have a geography degree must have a B in geography at A-level. Minimum grade C or 4 at GCSE (or equivalent) in English language and mathematics. In addition to a grade C at GCSE in English Language, applicants whose first language is not English are required to meet the following language requirements: IELTS 6.5 overall, 6.5 in writing, no sub-section below 6.0, or TOEFL iBT overall score of 90 with a minimum score of 22 in writing and 20 in the other sub-sections, or Pearson PTE overall score of 62 with a minimum score of 62 in writing and 55 in the other sub-sections, or Cambridge CAE grade A or Cambridge CPE grade C (please note that the Cambridge First Certificate in English is not acceptable).
