The PGCE Secondary (English) program prepares you to instruct English at the secondary level in the UK, covering ages 11-16 or 11-18, including the National Curriculum, GCSE, and A-level syllabi. The curriculum also incorporates drama, media studies, and information and communication technology. Upon completion, you'll earn a postgraduate qualification and be eligible for qualified teacher status (QTS). University-led sessions, conducted by experienced educators and examiners, allow you to analyze teaching methodologies for KS4/GCSE and AS/A-level English. The program focuses on converting your subject expertise into effective teaching techniques and applying educational theories in practical settings. Additionally, seasoned teachers from our partner schools contribute their knowledge, with subject mentors offering guidance to enhance your teaching approaches and subject mastery.
