The MRes Reproduction and Pregnancy program prepares students for research careers in reproductive medicine, pregnancy, or related health and science fields. You'll complete two connected research projects focused on reproduction and pregnancy topics, complemented by instructional units covering current knowledge and research methodologies. No previous research background is required. This program offers practical training in advanced technologies relevant to reproductive health, with skills transferable to broader medical research. You'll develop expertise in scientific writing and research proposal development while gaining comprehensive knowledge through seminars at the Maternal and Fetal Health Research Centre. Students frequently contribute to public research outputs during or after the program, including conference presentations (both national and international), published abstracts and papers (as primary or contributing authors), and recognition through awards like RCOG presentation prizes, essay competitions, and travel grants.
