The MSc in Management and Implementation of Development Projects is delivered through a collaboration between the Global Development Institute, Alliance Manchester Business School, and the School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering. This program leverages the academic strengths of each institution, offering a comprehensive study of international development management that addresses both infrastructure development and socioeconomic progress. The curriculum aims to equip students with: analytical tools, practical knowledge, and technical skills for designing, executing, overseeing, and assessing development initiatives; advanced expertise in key aspects of development management and practitioner responsibilities; understanding of fundamental processes including needs assessment, progress tracking, and strategic intervention in project cycles; and hands-on training in essential interpersonal skills such as mediation, emotional awareness, dispute resolution, and navigating workplace dynamics.

We require a UK Honours degree with a First or Upper Second (2.1) classification or the overseas equivalent, in any discipline. When assessing your academic record we take into account the grades you have achieved and the standing of the institution where you studied your qualification. IELTS: 6.5 overall, with 6.5 in writing and no other element below 6.0; TOEFL iBT: 90 overall, with 22 or more in writing and no other element below 20.
