This three-year MSc (Clin) in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery equips dental professionals with specialized training in diagnosing and treating conditions affecting the mouth, jaws, face, and neck. The curriculum focuses on oral surgery while incorporating broader aspects of maxillofacial surgery. Students perform supervised minor oral procedures using local anesthesia, sedation, and general anesthesia, while also observing major surgeries in theater. The program includes participation in clinical consultations, trauma clinics, ward rounds, and patient care duties. Coursework encompasses surgical fundamentals, evidence-based oral surgery techniques, dental and bone pathology, soft tissue management, salivary gland disorders, pain management, and temporomandibular joint disorders.
