The MSc Advanced Process Integration and Design is a specialized Chemical Engineering master's program that originated in the Department of Chemical Engineering (UMIST) more than two decades ago. Developed from pioneering research at the Centre for Process Integration, the curriculum initially concentrated on energy optimization before broadening to encompass material efficiency and emissions control. Many course components derive from energy production research, particularly concerning oil and gas processing. This program equips chemical engineering graduates with comprehensive, methodical knowledge of process design and integration principles, specifically tailored for the petroleum, gas, and chemical processing industries.
