The MPlan Master of Planning is a four-year advanced undergraduate program accredited by both the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). During the first three years, students follow the same curriculum as our BSc Planning and Real Estate program, exploring challenges professionals encounter in planning, developing, and managing built and natural environments. The fourth year offers master's-level instruction focused on professional planning training. Students who reconsider their career path can opt to complete the program after three years and receive a BSc in Planning and Real Estate instead. In today's world, where governments and societies globally strive for sustainable development, effective urban planning and environmental management are more critical than ever. At The University of Manchester's Department of Planning and Environmental Management, we prioritize understanding and addressing the challenges affecting our communities and living spaces. The MPlan Master of Planning meets the spatial planning requirements for RTPI certification and aligns with the RICS Planning and Development pathway.
