The Chemistry Department provides diverse research opportunities across multiple disciplines such as biological chemistry, organic synthesis, computational chemistry, materials science, magnetic resonance, structural chemistry, radiochemistry, environmental chemistry, nanoscience, and various life science fields including biochemistry, biotechnology, genetics, and molecular biology.

Our department features cutting-edge facilities with modern laboratories, advanced equipment, and excellent spectroscopic services. Each researcher receives guidance from both a primary supervisor and an advisor who provides additional support.

Qualification Requirements

The standard academic entry requirement for this MPhil is a lower second-class (2:2) honours degree in a discipline directly relevant to the MPhil (or international equivalent).

Applicants who do not already possess an acceptable English Language qualification will need to take a recognised test and attain a minimum IELTS 6.5 overall with a minimum of 6 in writing and listening, and 5.5. in all other sub-tests.

TOEFL iBT - At least90 overall withno subtest below 20.

Pearson Test of English (PTE) - At least70 overall with no subtest below 59
