Manchester's civil engineering program helps you build a solid career foundation through a five-year MEng degree, combining academic study with hands-on industry experience. This field focuses on creating and maintaining infrastructure - from skyscrapers to transport networks - while addressing environmental and societal impacts.
The initial two years provide comprehensive training in key areas including structural mechanics, fluid dynamics, soil mechanics, building materials, design principles, project coordination, and applied mathematics.
A-level Grades AAA in Mathematics, Physics and one other subject. Practical skills are a crucial part of science education and therefore there will be a requirement to pass the practical element of any science A Level taken. Where applicants are applying for science and related degrees, this is likely to be made explicit in the offers you will receive. International Baccalaureate 36 points overall with 6,6,6 at Higher Level, including Mathematics and Physics and one other subject. We accept Mathematics: analysis and approaches or Mathematics: applications and interpretation. IELTS 6.5 overall with no sub-test below 6.5 TOEFL iBT 90 with no sub-test below 22 Pearson PTE 70 overall with no sub-test below 70
