Our MBChB in Medicine with Foundation Year program is designed for students lacking the necessary science background to begin medical studies. The foundation year is split between the University and Xaverian College, with progression to the five-year MBChB program upon successful completion. This comprehensive five-year medical degree equips students with the skills needed for modern healthcare systems. As the UK's largest medical school with over 2,200 undergraduates, we employ diverse teaching approaches that blend traditional and innovative methods. Manchester's distinctive learning model focuses on small-group case discussions where students take an active role, supplemented by lectures, practical sessions (including anatomical dissection), and clinical placements throughout the program.
