This vibrant hub connects gifted writers and critics to share perspectives and insights. The Center operates on the fundamental belief that excellent writing stems from thoughtful reading. Throughout the program, you'll analyze literary techniques by examining contemporary works in seminars while refining your own writing through workshops and personalized tutorials. Students can focus on novel writing, short stories, creative nonfiction, or poetry. The curriculum features seminars with Jeanette Winterson, fiction and poetry workshops led by celebrated authors, and personalized guidance from writers-in-residence. Additionally, you'll attend Literature Live - a biweekly event showcasing top contemporary writers in Manchester, gain industry insights from publishing professionals, and network with visiting literary agents and editors.
