Discover how major genome initiatives have contributed to our understanding of disease mechanisms at the molecular level, and how genetic engineering is applied in biotechnology to produce essential medical products like clotting factors, insulin, and vaccines. During your third year, you can undertake a placement with one of our approved partner organizations either in the UK or internationally. You also have the option to organize your own placement, pending approval from the School of Biological Sciences.
