The BA in Politics and Modern History stands as one of the nation's most longstanding programs of its type, merging an exploration of contemporary world history with an analysis of political systems and an evaluation of political philosophy within historical contexts. Foundational courses in history, governmental structures, and political theory form the degree's backbone during the initial two years, followed by specialized electives in the third year - including a substantial 12,000-word dissertation. This dual discipline approach seeks to provide students with distinctive perspectives on societal functions across different historical periods.
