Our Bachelor of Arts in Politics and Criminology program is one of the specialized tracks available within the BA Social Sciences curriculum. This program is perfect for students seeking academic flexibility or wishing to explore particular themes like crime, social class, racial issues, or religious studies from multiple viewpoints. During the first year, you'll engage with at least three different disciplines, then focus more deeply on your chosen areas of interest in subsequent years. The curriculum covers six key disciplines: Criminology - Investigating the root causes and impacts of criminal behavior. Philosophy - Exploring fundamental questions about knowledge, morality, and existence while developing critical thinking about reasoning and ethical decision-making. Politics - Analyzing systems of governance, power structures, and political institutions. Quantitative Methods - Applying statistical analysis and data interpretation to social phenomena. We accept native language A Levels providing they are taken in the same sitting as your other subjects. We will not accept combination of Mathematics, Further Mathematics and a native language.
We accept the Level 3 Diploma in Financial Studies (DipFS) as equivalent to an A-level if taken alongside two full A-levels from the list of acceptable subjects above.
GCSE
Applicants must demonstrate a broad general education including acceptable levels of Literacy and Numeracy, equivalent to at least Grade C or 4 in GCSE/iGCSE English Language and Mathematics. GCSE/iGCSE English Literature will not be accepted in lieu of GCSE/iGCSE English Language.
