The BA in French and Japanese program is designed to: Equip you with thorough knowledge of French and Japanese languages, literature, culture, history, and linguistics, preparing you to function competently in French or Japanese-speaking settings. Enhance your language abilities, including precise speaking and writing, comprehending and evaluating various media, adapting to different communication styles, confidently addressing groups, and translating with cultural awareness. French Instruction The majority of our faculty are native speakers who conduct both language and most cultural studies courses in French. Weekly French instruction includes 3-6 hours of grammar and conversation classes (available for both post-A-Level students and beginners), helping you achieve near-native accuracy and fluency. These language studies complement optional modules covering French and Francophone history, politics, literature, contemporary culture, and linguistics spanning from the Early Modern era to today.
