Program overviewThis established MSc program equips you with advanced expertise in electronic engineering and IoT technologies. Our curriculum is refreshed yearly to ensure alignment with current industry trends and technological advancements.Program structureThe initial year mirrors our one-year MSc program, establishing core competencies through essential subjects like embedded systems, digital design, IC engineering, microprocessor architectures, IoT technologies, and research methodologies with project management training.The curriculum encompasses digital design principles, microelectronic materials science, and advanced embedded system development - including a dedicated module to prepare you for your final research project in the third semester.Specialization opportunities are available through elective modules covering image processing fundamentals, network communication principles, parallel programming for multi-core systems, and plasma technology applications in microelectronics.Your second year features an extended industrial placement (typically 30 weeks from September to June), either domestically or internationally. This practical experience allows you to apply academic knowledge in professional settings, enhancing your employability through hands-on engineering work, professional networking, and workplace confidence development. Many students maintain relationships with their placement organizations, often returning for future projects or employment post-graduation.Note: We continuously enhance our postgraduate offerings. We accept a 2:2 honours degree from a UK university, or an equivalent academic qualification from a similar non-UK institution. This degree should be in a relevant subject, for example Mathematics, Engineering or Physical Sciences. IELTS: 6.5 overall, with no component below 5.5.
