Program overviewThis established MSc program equips you with advanced expertise in electronic engineering and IoT technologies. Our curriculum is refreshed yearly to ensure alignment with current industry trends and technological advancements.Program structureWe establish core competencies through foundational modules covering embedded systems, digital design, IC development, microprocessor architectures, IoT technologies, and essential research methodologies.Our program includes comprehensive digital design instruction, introduces microelectronic materials, and develops expertise in advanced embedded system design - complemented by a practical module to prepare you for your final semester project.Specialization opportunities allow you to explore image processing fundamentals, communication network principles, parallel programming for multi-core systems, and electrical plasma applications in microelectronics.Part-time options require employer collaboration. Prospective part-time students should consult the Program Director prior to application.Note: We continuously enhance our postgraduate offerings. Starting September 2025, this program will also be available as Microelectronic Systems MSc, with students having the option to graduate under either title.Target audienceThis program is designed for graduates with existing electronics knowledge seeking advanced specialization (Master's level) in electronic engineering disciplines.Key learning outcomes• Master complex digital/analog system design principles

We accept a 2:2 honours degree from a UK university, or an equivalent academic qualification from a similar non-UK institution. This degree should be in a relevant subject, for example Mathematics, Engineering or Physical Sciences. IELTS: 6.5 overall, with no component below 5.5.
