Liverpool's research in Women and Children's Health enjoys global recognition for its outstanding quality. The Department specializes in obstetrics, gynaecology, neonatology, and both medical and surgical paediatrics, maintaining worldwide acclaim for its pioneering studies across these fields.

Housed in the cutting-edge Institute in the Park at Alder Hey, Liverpool's Child Health research primarily focuses on emerging clinical academics who lead dedicated teams with substantial funding.

Our primary research centers operate within two of Europe's most prominent Women's and Children's hospitals: the Liverpool Women's Hospital's research hub and Alder Hey Hospital's Institute in the Park.

Renowned internationally for its pediatric research, the Department of Children's Health features specialized teams working across obstetrics, gynaecology, neonatology, and both medical and surgical child healthcare.

Qualification Requirements

Applicants for postgraduate research study at Liverpool are normally expected to hold a UK first degree with a First Class or Upper Second Class degree classification, or a Second Class degree plus a Master's degree. Equivalent international qualifications are also accepted, and their equivalence will be evaluated on the basis of the information provided by the National Academic Recognition and Information Centre (NARIC) as well as internal guidance based on our experience of a qualification's suitability as a preparation for our programmes.
