The School hosts multiple specialized research groups. Individual faculty research specialties are outlined in their profiles. We encourage research proposals and will assist in matching applicants with suitable supervisors. Our facilities have recently benefited from a £36 million upgrade, resulting in cutting-edge laboratories featuring rapid prototyping systems, various laser technologies, two advanced flight simulators, and a civil engineering structures lab, among other resources.

The modernization also introduced an innovative active learning space designed for collaborative student projects, complete with a workshop offering student-accessible rapid prototyping equipment. Research students work in open-plan areas adjacent to faculty offices, fostering continuous interaction among peers and with academic staff.
