Our innovative Global Public Health pathway provides a comprehensive examination of health challenges that cross borders and species, analyzing their epidemiological, socio-economic, cultural, and political factors. Students gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills to assess the complex, interconnected nature of worldwide health concerns.Public health focuses on addressing the broad factors influencing health and wellbeing. This program prepares you to implement public health strategies internationally. The Global Health specialization is ideal for those pursuing careers with organizations like the WHO, international NGOs (such as CARE, Save the Children, or Doctors Without Borders), or national health agencies.Launched in 1989, our Master of Public Health (MPH) program maintains global recognition for its interdisciplinary approach aligned with WHO's Health for All objectives. You'll analyze modern and historical influences on health systems while exploring how cross-species interactions and environmental changes affect global populations.Addressing today's health crises demands an approach that considers worldwide connections between species, technology, and ecosystems. You'll learn fundamental health protection concepts, study the progression of health initiatives, and investigate societal causes of health disparities.Through hands-on experience with statistical analysis and epidemiological methods, you'll master qualitative research approaches and management principles. Graduates emerge prepared to lead in public health research, policy, and practice within government and nonprofit sectors. Our MPH core curriculum aligns with Health Education North West's specialist training program, helping graduates qualify for UK Public Health Consultant training.Who should consider this programWe welcome students from diverse fields including healthcare, sciences, social sciences, and humanities. This program suits professionals in public health, health management, policy development, or related sectors working with government agencies, community groups, or NGOs.
