This program equips you with the essential skills and practical experience to advance your musical performance career. You'll receive mentorship from industry professionals and our expert faculty as you refine your artistry as an aspiring professional musician. Our MMus Performance program enhances solo and ensemble performance abilities while cultivating teaching and research competencies for performing artists.

At Liverpool, you'll study in a cross-disciplinary learning and research setting alongside a globally diverse student body.

Through intensive small group sessions and personalized instruction, our department fosters a dynamic performance culture with networking opportunities across regional and national music organizations.

Students enjoy access to state-of-the-art studio and practice spaces, including performances in the Tung Auditorium (opened in 2022) - a technologically advanced 400-seat venue with perfect acoustics featuring two premium Steinway pianos.

Qualification Requirements

You will normally need a 2:1 honours degree, or above, or equivalent. This degree should be in music or an arts, humanities or social science subject. Joint-honours degrees, where music or a related subject is combined with another, are accepted. We are able to offer a level of flexibility for applicants. Those with a 2:2 honours degree will be considered on an individual basis. IELTS: 6.5 overall, with no component below 6.0. TOEFL iBT: 88 overall, with minimum scores of listening 19, writing 19, reading 19 and speaking 20.
