Our Orthoptics program trains future professionals for a rewarding career in this vital healthcare specialty. The curriculum provides graduates with essential skills to assess and treat various conditions affecting patients of all ages, from children to seniors.
These may involve strabismus (misaligned eyes), amblyopia (commonly known as lazy eye), trauma-related injuries, tumors, head trauma, diabetes-related eye issues, and stroke-related vision problems.
The program also emphasizes core principles of the nervous system, including neuro-anatomy and physiology, particularly as they apply to orthoptic practice.
This foundational understanding prepares graduates to work as skilled, thoughtful practitioners who can make meaningful contributions to eye care teams.
