Pursue Chemistry studies at Liverpool within an environment renowned for research excellence. Chemistry is an ideal path for those fascinated by materials chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and theoretical/computational chemistry. You'll excel in our recognized undergraduate lab facilities. Our chemistry programs share a foundational curriculum for the initial two years, offering flexibility and options during this period. These introductory years move at an accelerated pace, blending theoretical and hands-on modules to establish a strong subject foundation.

By your third year, you'll have developed into a skilled chemist, ready to expand your expertise across chemistry's three main disciplines. You can select from specialized chemistry electives, interdisciplinary options, or science education modules for aspiring teachers. Third-year practical components will further enhance the competencies gained in earlier years, potentially including contemporary mini-projects that prepare you for professional demands.

Your education includes a valuable industrial placement year, providing real-world chemistry experience and insight into industrial settings.

Recognizing varying mathematical backgrounds among incoming students (crucial for advanced chemistry study), we offer adaptable mathematics courses tailored to individual learning speeds.

Should you aspire to a chemistry research career within the first 18 months, you may transition to the MChem Chemistry (F102) program, contingent upon maintaining a 2:1 average (60% or above).
