Our Geography BA (Hons) program equips you to analyze these critical issues and their global impacts. Geography provides distinctive perspectives on contemporary global concerns like international relations, climate challenges, sustainable development, public health, economic systems, population dynamics, environmental risks, and resource conservation.
Through our Geography BA (Hons) program, you'll cultivate specialized knowledge and analytical skills to examine diverse viewpoints on these complex issues while understanding their interconnected nature.
The University of Liverpool boasts one of the world's oldest Geography departments, offering programs since 1886. Our human geography expertise covers demographic studies, migration patterns, healthcare geography, spatial analysis, economic environments, sociocultural transformations, urban/rural studies, and political ecology.
While this degree primarily focuses on human geography through its core modules, students can optionally incorporate physical geography courses. Many choose to balance both disciplines. Additionally, you may select up to two 15-credit modules annually from other subjects, allowing interdisciplinary study within your geography degree. Our academic advisors will help you select complementary modules that align with your career aspirations.
Fieldwork forms an essential component throughout your studies, with destinations including Barcelona, Lorca (Spain), Portugal, and UK locations like Glasgow, Belfast, Cardiff, Edinburgh, the Lake District, and mid-Wales. Final-year students may conduct dissertation research overseas.
