Students pursuing MPhil or PhD degrees have the opportunity to independently explore a psychology topic of their interest, developing an in-depth thesis under the supervision of two or three faculty members with expertise in the chosen field. Alongside their research, candidates may undergo specialized training in methodologies pertinent to their study while actively participating in the School's academic community. The psychology PhD represents the highest level of research qualification, ideal for those aiming for academic positions while also opening diverse professional pathways. Typically, students begin as MPhil/PhD candidates before transitioning to full PhD status in their second year. The School's vibrant research culture keeps faculty engaged with contemporary psychological discussions and cutting-edge advancements. Research activities are structured around three thematic clusters (Forensic and Clinical Psychology, Perception, Action and Cognition, Development and Social Behavior) and two dedicated centers (Autism Research Innovation Centre and Lincoln Cleep Centre).
