Biochemistry and Molecular Biology provide insights into the fundamental chemical and biological mechanisms that sustain life, equipping us to address critical issues in cell biology, pathology, pharmacology, physiology, and genetics. Breakthroughs in these disciplines have transformed our comprehension of molecular-level biological systems and the processes governing cellular functions. This knowledge allows us to tackle various health concerns and diseases by targeting molecular and biochemical pathways. Our MPhil/PhD program aims to cultivate students' research capabilities through focused investigation of specialized topics. Participants can enhance essential research competencies via the University's training programs. With mentorship from PhD supervisors, students will have opportunities to present their findings through seminars at the University of Lincoln and at national and international conferences. Doctoral candidates will also prepare progress reports, refine their academic writing for peer-reviewed publications, and ultimately master the presentation of their research and thesis. In addition to acquiring subject-specific expertise (such as molecular lab techniques or animal cognition studies), pursuing a research degree fosters transferable skills including analytical thinking, organizational abilities, collaborative work, and effective communication.
