The School of Mathematics and Physics operates from specialized facilities within the University's Isaac Newton Building, delivering diverse programs in both fields. Our Mathematics curriculum delivers core training in mathematical theory, spanning both pure and applied mathematics, while Physics programs integrate foundational and practical physics with comprehensive mathematical and computational instruction. Foundation year options serve as an alternative pathway into these complete degree tracks.
After successfully finishing the Science Foundation Year, learners advance to the initial undergraduate level of their selected degree. This results in a four-year study period for standard degrees, extending to five years for integrated Master's programs. Graduates' final qualifications will denote the complete course name, such as BSc Physics with Science Foundation Year.
