Spanning from medieval studies to contemporary literature, this Master's program helps students cultivate advanced critical analysis while refining their writing, communication, and research abilities. The curriculum explores the breadth of literary studies, preparing graduates for academic research or professional advancement. Elective courses cover historical periods ranging from the Middle Ages through the Renaissance to modern times.
The Lincoln School of Humanities and Heritage specializes in 21st Century literature, Victorian literature, feminist writings, political discourse, Gothic fiction, utopian studies, American novels, environmental criticism, and theatrical arts.
Participants can learn from visiting authors, editors, theater professionals, and filmmakers who conduct lectures and workshops at the University of Lincoln. Notable past guests have included poet Patience Agbabi, mystery writer Ann Cleeves, art historian Andrew Graham-Dixon, naturalist Chris Packham CBE, screenwriter Robert Shearman, and former Poet Laureate Dame Carol Ann Duffy, who joined as a Visiting Artist in 2015 and frequently returns to share her poetry with students.
