The Arts Foundation Year at Lincoln serves as the first year of a comprehensive four-year degree program, offering an alternative pathway to various arts degrees within the College of Arts. These include Animation and Visual Effects, Architecture, Graphic Design, Creative Advertising, Illustration, Interior Architecture and Design, Design for Event, Exhibition and Performance, Fashion, Fine Art, Photography, and Product Design. Collectively referred to as the Arts Foundation Year, this program embraces a vibrant interdisciplinary learning approach. All students follow the same curriculum and learn together, irrespective of their chosen specialization. It is tailored for those who may need additional time to adapt to university-level studies, are undecided about their focus area, did not achieve their expected grades, or are re-entering education. Participants explore practical and theoretical subjects aligned with their creative fields, gaining confidence through experimental techniques, design processes, hands-on workshops, and critical analysis.
In today's highly competitive global landscape, brands that leverage creative, captivating, and groundbreaking advertising distinguish themselves. The BA (Hons) Creative Advertising program at Lincoln empowers students to devise inventive solutions for global marketing challenges. They learn to transform ideas into compelling campaigns, examining the interplay between conceptual thinking, copywriting, and design. The course equips students with the skills to grasp the interconnected nature of impactful advertising. Through diverse media—including television, print, digital, and ambient advertising—students tackle real-world briefs, honing practical expertise. Our faculty consists of seasoned professionals with strong industry ties, facilitating valuable work experience opportunities. The program boasts longstanding collaborations with leading global agencies like VCCP, Grey, Leo Burnett, Saatchi & Saatchi, and Ogilvy. Students are encouraged to participate in prestigious competitions such as Design and Art Direction (D&AD), You Can Now (YCN), and Cannes Future Lions, where many have achieved notable success.
